'Mad Men' - ese / The New York Times Magazine / 2010
A typographic illustration for the New York Times Magazine's column 'On Language', by Ben Zimmer, discussing the accuracy in the portrayal of the 1960s era in the AMC television series 'Mad Men'. The show has been critically lauded for, among other things, its obsession with authentic period detail, lovingly recreating the early 1960s world of Madison Avenue ad men, right down to the prices on receipts and the secretaries' restrictive undergarments. The letters in the illustration presents the phrase 'Mad Men' - ese in a typographic style inspired by 1960s home appliances. Using a 3D software the drawn letters was converted into a shiny three dimensional chrome emblem.
